Hello, Patriots and Health Care professionals. It’s your chance to: 1)Find the flaws 2) Explain how today is better than portrayed 3) tell ALL about the distortions and false hopes… from whitehouse.gov July 30, 2009:
THE SECURITY YOU GET from health insurance reform:
No Discrimination for Pre-Existing Conditions
- Insurance companies will be prohibited from refusing you coverage because of your medical history. 2010Vision- “If voluntary, nobody will sign up until sick, so Govt Takeover HealthCare must become MANDATORY.”
No Exorbitant Out-of-Pocket Expenses, Deductibles or Co-Pays
- Insurance companies will have to abide by yearly caps on how much they can charge for out-of-pocket expenses. 2010Vision- “Will drive private insurance costs sky-high, making Govt Takeover option far more competitive.”
No Cost-Sharing for Preventive Care
- Insurance companies must fully cover, without charge, regular checkups and tests that help you prevent illness, such as mammograms or eye and foot exams for diabetics. 2010Vision- “Preventive care is great, but it can actually be more expensive. More important, in Crisis Mode, if Govt requires a test, they can also restrict it by age, handicap, ANY reason.”
No Dropping of Coverage for Seriously Ill
- Insurance companies will be prohibited from dropping or watering down insurance coverage for those who become seriously ill. 2010Vision- “Insurance companies are prohibited from doing this today, only shoddy ones try to avoid claims. Enforce the current laws!”
No Gender Discrimination
- Insurance companies will be prohibited from charging you more because of your gender. 2010Vision- “This will lead to HUGE pressure to reduce gender specific costs, such as childbirth. For example, counseling for abortion (rather than childbirth) would reduce costs, wouldn’t it?”
No Annual or Lifetime Caps on Coverage
- Insurance companies will be prevented from placing annual or lifetime caps on the coverage you receive. 2010Vision- “Will make private insurance more expensive, Govt Takeover option more attractive.”
Extended Coverage for Young Adults
- Children would continue to be eligible for family coverage through the age of 26. 2010Vision- “Most cover until age 25 if in college, so a few more years is not too significant.”
Guaranteed Insurance Renewal
- Insurance companies will be required to renew any policy as long as the policyholder pays their premium in full. Insurance companies won’t be allowed to refuse renewal because someone became sick. 2010Vision- “It’s illegal to refuse coverage today if payments stay current. It’s already illegal to prevent renewal due to your claims!”
Government regulations have been put in place for decades to get where we are today. How can more regulation possibly be better in any true and overall sense?”
